A competitive swimmer, Lizzie has represented Great Britain in the Olympics, FINA World Aquatics Championships, European championships, and England in the Commonwealth Games.
We were delighted to be recommended to Lizzie, via a mutual friend when Lizzie was looking to commission a piece of bespoke jewellery to mark her achievements. She wanted a piece of Olympic jewellery that would remind her of her achievements and represent the tens of thousands of hours she has dedicated to her profession and country.
It was an absolute pleasure to design something for Lizzie, and the whole project is another perfect example of why I always say, we don’t have a job, we don’t work! Being a jewellery designer is amazing fun!
My experience with Wyatt Jewellers, from start to finish, has been an absolute privilege.
As a full-time sportswoman I don’t own or wear a huge amount of classical jewellery. So I was initially a little apprehensive about speaking with such a renowned craftsman. Luckily for me, as well as being charming and gregarious, Patrick is also incredibly talented and eager to push the boundaries when creating bespoke pieces of jewellery.
When we first met at their studio in Hatton Garden, I explained that I wanted something with significance, that held personal meaning for me, and that I could showcase as much as possible after the commencement of my sporting career. Together we discussed designs and settled upon the Olympic rings in a platinum band – a challenging piece that Patrick jumped at the opportunity to create.
I have very slim hands and definitely didn’t want a ‘knuckle duster’. Rather I wanted a ring that was delicate and feminine. After a few conversations I let Patrick proceed with his magic and I couldn’t be happier with the finished result.
My Olympic ring is intricate and refined, with the Olympic emblem curving elegantly around the band. It is a truly exquisite exhibition of Patrick’s skill as a jeweller.
A huge thank you to Patrick for creating a beautifully unique piece of bespoke jewellery with special significance to me.
My only worry is that I’ll never want to take it off!
