Notes on this Gemstone

This is one of those gemstones that has personality. There are some small naturally occuring marks in the gem and some zoning (bands of colour) visible upon close inspection, these features serve to remind us that what we have in front of us is natural and came from the earth. The bright notes of the classic 'Ceylon' colour (light bright blue) are underpinned by a deeper, navy body colour. The elongated shape makes this gemstone versatile - ideal for long elegant fingers or as a pendant.
