Notes on this Gemstone
You may be aware that the vast majority of opals come from Southern Australia. There are Mexican Fire opals, though that is another story. For the last two centuries, they have been mined so much that it extremely hard to find fine examples. Thankfully, we have this beauty. You want to see an even zonal spread and array of colour. This has both! It also has a plum 'cabochon' top which is becoming less usual as the material begins to become sparse. Get it while you can!
