So here is the technical bit, though it is really interesting. Colour-changing gemstones appear to change colour when viewed in different lighting conditions because they absorb different colours from different light sources. This is due to the fact that daylight and incandescent light have different wavelengths of light: See, that is interesting! They come from Myanmar (formally Burma) and this one is a tremendous example of the change from greyish blue to purplish-blue in daylight, and green to greyish green in incandescent light. It provides never-ending fascination!
